The Meljon Singers
Musical Director : Janette Ruocco
Janette is the founder conductor of the East London-based chamber choir The Meljon Singers with whom she has developed a repertoire of over 600 sacred and secular works.
Janette has conducted The Meljon Singers in large-scale works with orchestra such as Britten's St Nicolas (Chelmsford Cathedral November 2008) and substantial a cappella ones, such as the Rachmaninov Vespers (March 2008).
The Meljon Singers have made it a feature of their work to seek out and perform choral works for chamber resources, e.g. Rossini 's Petite Messe Solenelle (2011), Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (2007), Brahms' Requiem in the version for piano 4 hands (St James' Piccadilly 2007), and works accompanied by a single instrument, including the cello, trumpet and flute.
